Cliffsnotes : Creating a Winning Powerpoint 2000 Presentation
Published in Paperback by Cliffs Notes (December, 1999)
Average review score:

The PowerPoint KeyThis a great book for people that have little if any experience working with PowerPoint. The book goes on to break PowerPoint down into sections for operations. It also has a list of do's and don'ts. Overall it is a pretty solid book

Cliffsnotes Babbitt
Published in Paperback by Cliffs Notes (May, 1984)
Average review score:

Brave New World Cliffs, very good!I used this book for the second half of my Freshman English class. We had to read Brave New World, and I didn't understand the REAL book all that well. Desperate, I went on a hunt for the Cliffs Notes to the book. I found the CN, and bought it right away. Soon, I was on my way to not only understand Huxley's crazy new world, but to also getting an A on all of the papers and tests related to the book!

CliffsNotes Brontes Jane Eyre
Published in Digital by Hungry Minds ()
Average review score:

Almost the bestI think that Jane Eyre was almost the best book. The only problem was the ending. All her life Jane has gotten the short end of the stick. Why for once can't this go her way? Why can't she have a normal husband? Why can't she have a break for once?

CliffsNotes Joseph Andrews
Published in Digital by Hungry Minds ()
Average review score:

Joseph Andrews NotesCliff Notes have always been a useful study tool. While this book lacks the details that make Joseph Andrews humorous, it does give a brief background as to the events and characters interactions in each chapter. While I would not recommend this book as a replacement to reading the actual novel, it is an excellent study guide.

CliffsNotes Tartuffe the Misanthrope and the Bourgeois Gentleman
Published in Digital by Hungry Minds ()
Average review score:

Understanding the Neoclassical Comedies of MoliereThis Cliffs Notes volume by Denis M. Calandra and James L. Roberts examines three Neoclassical comedies by Moliere. The volume begins with a section on the Life and Background of the author and an excellent section that distinguishes "Neoclassical Comedy" of Moliere from the "Romantic Comedy" epitomized by Shakespeare. Following a concise explication of Moliere's Comic Technique, Calandra and Roberts look at "Tartuffe," "The Misanthrope" and "The Bourgeois Gentleman." Each play is examined with a List of Characters, a General Plot Summary, Summaries and Commentaries that look at each of the five acts in turn looking at one or two scenes at a time, and then Character Analyses of the main characters. As always, the best way of making use of this little yellow book with the black stripes is to read the commentaries after you have read the corresponding scenes in the play. The greatest strength of this particular Cliffs Notes is the set up of Neoclassical Comedy and Moliere's comic technique. For those teaching/reading these plays that background information will allow better understanding of any one of these plays.

CliffsNotes The Killer Angels
Published in Digital by Hungry Minds ()
Average review score:

Helped me read through itThe book itself, The Killer Angels, was not a difficult read. In fact, it's a really good book. The cliff notes however, help you to understand some of the millitary talk you may have skipped through. I personally like Barron'S book notes better, but they haven't done a Killer Angels review yet. I suggest this book to anyone who needs to read this book (for summer reading, AP US History)... it helps you to understand and study for a test better.

CliffsNotes Twelfth Night
Published in Digital by Hungry Minds ()
Average review score:

Understanding Shakespeare's best romantic comedyEven before the film "Shakespeare in Love" revitalized interest in "Twelfth Night," this play has been one of the most read of the Bard's comedies. As with the other Cliffs Notes dealing with Shakespeare, this volume begins with a brief life of Shakespeare that collects what little is actually known about the man, followed by a brief synopsis of the play and a list of characters. The Summary and Commentary section looks at each scene of the play, and is most useful if you read the commentary after you have read the corresponding scene. You simply cannot get by just reading the summary with any Shakespeare play because the dialogue is absolute crucial to any understanding or appreciation of the characters/play. The character analyses look at Viola, Olivia, Duke Orsino, the comic trio of Sir Toby Belch, Sir Andrew Aguecheek, and Maria, and Malvolio. Unlike most of the little yellow books with the black stripes, you will not find sections dealing with specific literary themes or motifs. The best analysis of any Shakespeare play makes much better use of the dialogue that this particular volume does, so I have to reiterate that you cannot teach/read any play without being able to deal with specific language and key lines.
